Oui to life
Parlesz vous le Français? This weeks Word On The Street really has a certain je ne sais quoi about it. Okay, so we're not French but are happy to support our snail eating friends celebrate Bastille Day on Friday, July 14 - a day representing freedom, equality and fraternity. Unfortunately, us Brisbanites are not lucky enough to score the day off, but the city has planned some pretty cool celebrations..

More than a coffee maker
A barista is more then someone who just makes your morning brew - they're your sunrise saviour, your shrink, your confidant and a bloody good multi-tasker we might add. Occasionally, when we find ourselves struggling to adult, a little heart to heart with our latte making friends seems to be just what the doctor ordered. There's nothing wrong with off-loading a little of life's dramas onto a near stranger, right? Heck we do it, coffee and a free therapy session sounds like a typical Monday for us.

Festivals, Flirting & Fun
September continues and so do the awesome events and openings in Brisbane, some of them in places we’ve always known about but never really had the time to check out. That could change this week, with the two openings of a new café and bar, an after dark experience and trip back in time with a famous playwright. Did we mention how thirsty we are getting with the weather hotting up? Thankfully Oktoberfest is coming to quench our thirsts. Getting ready to embrace our inner German!
