Good food and great vibes is what this place is all about. Whether you're here for a quick trip or this is the place you'll grow old and grey, we promise you - our beloved Brissy will continue to accommodate you, and keep you entertained with it's ever changing social scene. Read on for what's hot and happening in the next few weeks and let your love for our city flourish..

Mammoth Meals From Tusk Til Dawn

Ice age at Woolly Mammoth Alehouse

Welcome to the ice age baby. The majestic woolly mammoth may have not have survived it, but their favourite bar sure did. I give you the Woolly Mammoth Alehouse! As wickedly epic as the mammoth itself, this alehouse knows there’s nothing better than a frostbitten glass to keep your beer cold as ice, ice, baby! With the ability to transform any beer from an 8 to a 10, the Woolly Mammoth is the place you never knew you needed.

It must be love..

Word On The Street #119

It's true what they say; love comes in all shapes and forms. Our greatest love is food (obviously) but, we also love being preened & pampered, we love giving our support to a good cause, we love music, socialising and trying new things and, most of all, we love LOVE. Whether your heart beats faster for another human or, a delicious bubbly beverage gives you the warm and fuzzies, we bet you'll find something lovely to do with someone you love in Brisbane over the next few weeks. Why not get the blood pumping at these exciting events...

Behind Sheppard

Local Bands | Meet Amy Sheppard

Behind Sheppard

You might already know them from their debut studio album, ‘Bombs Away’, peaking at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, or heard about their second single, "Geronimo", which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified 5× platinum. It's none other than our fave local band, Sheppard! The indie pop band was formed in 2009 from our very own city here in Brisbane, Australia, consisting of George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard, Emma Sheppard and Jay Bovino, Michael Butler and Dean Gordon.

In 2018, the band went back to their roots and made most of the second album ‘Watching The Sky’ at home in Brisbane. With their efforts paying off, they were rewarded with their second album landing at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The band has been busy refining their identity and defining what they represent in the Australian music scene aiming to leave a unique footprint on the Australian music industry while doing so. Get to know 27-year-old Amy Sheppard, the middle sibling of older brother George and younger sister Emma.

New menu, who dis?

Word On The Street #115

Out with the old and in with the new (well, sort of). Staying on top of seasonal foodie trends and produce is something most Brisbane eateries take pride in #lucky. Menus are continually being updated and tweaked to suit, not only our wants and needs, but also, what's current, fresh and locally sourced. We've had the privilege of taste-testing a number of new breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink menus over the past few weeks, and we think you should try them too. Be quick though, time fly's when you're having fun and before you know it, it'll be spring and the menus will be different again!
