New Year, Same Me
Hello 2018, we are ready for you. Our resolution lists have been made and they feature an array of goals including eating anything and everything that comes our way, getting our #fitspo on, enjoying more LOL moments, living life to the fullest and, the list goes on and on. So, it's basically exactly the same as what we had written down last year. You know what they say - if it ain't broke don't fix it, right? New year, same us! We're always hungry, thirsty and feeling adventurous and if there's one thing Brisbane knows how to do, it's to let the good times roll. We've listed a few low-key events to help ease our way into the new year..
Shop Local This Festive Season
Stress less this festive season. If you're anything like us, you put your Christmas shopping off until the very last minute. Your stress levels hit an all time high and you feel like your hair is turning grey. 'Tis the season to be jolly they say? We say, 'tis the season to double up on those anxiety meds. Despite the fact that Christmas can be stressful AF, we do actually wave the festive flag. Once you get past the gift shopping part there's nothing but love to give, joy to feel and good food to eat. We've done the hoop jumping for you this year and came up with a rather cracking, Chrissy gift guide (because no one likes a Christmas Grinch)...
Tinsel is not a fashion accessory
Alas, the holiday is here and for some, in terms of fashion, by December we can be exhausted from pulling out all the stops for the recent Spring Racing Carnival, and with the silly season here it can start to warp ones judgement. Now is not the time to think ‘but its Christmas’ or ‘its only once a year’, not when you’re so close to capping off the year on a high, fashion faux pas need to be avoided at all costs.
Christmas is Brewing
Christmas is brewing. It's time to get hoppy, and support a good cause. The 12 Tragic Beers of Christmas event is one not to miss. It's Summer, the silly season is here and it's party time. I'm thirsty just thinking about all the fun to be had. So many cool new places all around town to enjoy wheter you want to sip, shop or savour. From 10th birthdays, Christmas markets to grabbing an Asian feast in Coorparoo to a new City coffee hub. Bring it on...
Here Is What Men Are Wearing in 2017 So Far
As the years go on, trends in men’s fashion get more and more daring. In 2016, for example, men's styling means wearing clothing items such as tie-dye, clothes with snake prints, and the good for all-occasion track pants. But this year, what is a trend when it comes to fashion and style got even ballsier as men keep their bold style cravings satisfied.
We have gotten ahead of the curve so far and defined some of the hottest fashion statements that blow this year’s fashion game. From what we have witnessed on the runways, the streets, TV screens, and fashion stores, here are the styles and items of clothing that men are wearing in 2017 and will probably still make it next year.

No need to sacrifice fashion for functionality
You may have dreams of yourself traipsing around some exotic foreign city in sky-high Jimmy Choos, but those visions probably aren't the whole picture. They likely leave out the ankle-rolling on cobblestones, the blisters on your toes and heels, and the persistent ache in your lower back. The point of travelling is to explore and enjoy a new place, and you can't do that if you can't even bear to move anywhere.
Fear not! There's no need to sacrifice fashion for functionality. Here are some fabulous shoes to wear on your travels that are equally stylish and comfortable - the best part is, they won’t take up a ton of room in your luggage!

Celebrate Mother's Day in Style
Portside Wharf is the perfect place to spoil mum this Mother's Day as the precinct celebrates in style with an array of food offerings and local live music from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday, May 14.
Give mum the day off as all restaurants and cafes will be open offering everything from a first-class lunch to a casual meal.
Long Hair Don't Care
Some say a hairstyle can make or break your look. Those who do, clearly aren't cursed with the 'bad hair day' gene. If you're one of those people who's hair wont grow past your shoulders, breaks off into the wind every time there's a light gust or is flatter then an A4 sheet of paper - hair extensions could be just the thing for you. Studio Ash Hair are experts in hair care and specialise in ‘Great Lengths’ extensions. Aside from turning you into Rapunzel, hair extensions do so much more for you, and your locks.
Beat those rainy day blues
It’s raining outside so your plan to go to the beach or the park is out the window and you’re stuck at home twiddling your thumbs and wondering what to do with yourself. This is a situation that is met by many people many times throughout the year, one that cannot be avoided – but one that can be helped! Twiddle no more, because here are some awesome and fun activities to do when the rains come, bound to keep you entertained and NOT bored!
Love is in the air …
Love, amour, dashuri, amare…. whatever language you say it in, it’s in everyone’s focus with V Day coming up this Tuesday. Time flies when you’re having fun. Quickly, look out the window, there it is racing by now. I think it even did a summersault. But don’t worry, that’s just a sign that you’re having the best time, and thanks to Word on the Street there’s plenty more to come….
