Every week it seems that there is something new, quirky and cool popping up in our beloved Brissy. This June it’s all about releasing our teenage nostalgia, finding a little slice of Paris in Southbank, ice skating in the middle of Brisbane’s King Gerge Square, foodie deals and escaping to an underground world of illusionist and magicians!

Brisbane Street Art Trail

After 1,400 spray paint cans, Brisbane Street Art Festival (BSAF) (6–14 February) has our city’s facelift well on track. BSAF founders, David Don and Lincoln Savage, sought to “offer a feast for the mind, ears, body and soul” with live painting displays from over 50 street artists. The 25+ walls completed for BSAF have inspired The Good Guide to curate a street art trail, showcasing a sample of public artworks around Brisbane. So lace-up your walking shoes, charge your cameras and take a walk through the streets of your town!

When Brisbane duo Al Barras and Kitty Danger couldn’t find themselves a coffee table that didn’t involve a long drive and eating meatballs, replica rip offs or designer price tags they decided to take things into their own hands, literally.

Valentine’s Day Lineup

Stepping away from cliché

Valentine’s Day Lineup

To the joy (or dismay) of the masses, Valentines Day is nearly upon us again. Thankfully, gone are the days where the 14th of February meant sunsets, roses and ribbons on puppy dogs, while the rest of us bitter lonely people holed up indoors waiting for the storm to blow over. Quite to the contrary, 2016 has seen V-Day backpedal from its notoriously cheesy potential. Now it’s all about embracing our creative side, and following the path less travelled. It’s about a flirty cocktail (… or three) in Brisbane’s newest retro bar, or a box of delivered alcohol-spiked cupcakes, or a drunken belly laugh with our best friends. So whatever your take on this infamous holiday, be sure to keep it fabulous with our ultimate Valentine’s Day lineup!

Walk in and you’d be forgiven for confusing it with a chic art gallery such are the beautiful displays of art accompanying stunning fashion, accessories and more.
