I’m a strong believer in the importance of good food and even better company. When I’m not procrastinating over my Creative Industries and Law degree, you can find me fuelling my brunch addiction, planning new adventures and taking photos of my dogs (or other people’s dogs – I’m not choosy).

The War on Lycra

Changing Australian Attitudes For Cyclists

The War on Lycra

I can understand why cyclists could annoy people. I’m an impatient individual who doesn’t enjoy driving 30km/hour behind a Lycra’ed butt. And as a self-proclaimed lazy night owl, I hold a deep mistrust for anyone who chooses to get up before sunrise to pedal around ‘for fun.’ But despite my general unease and slight irritation, I don’t hate cyclists. I applaud anyone who has the motivation to combine exercise with environmentally friendly transport. However, it would seem that support for cycling is a rarity in Australia. When did everyone start hating cyclists? And what is everyone so angry about, anyway?
