River Quay South Bank Guide to watch the Fireworks
Riverfire is a much-loved Queensland tradition, lighting up the Brisbane skyline and finishing out Brisbane Festival with a bang. This year, whether you plan to savour the view with a glass of wine, or get amongst the action at the Riverstage, Brisbane has you covered. This is your ultimate guide to watching the fireworks spectacular at River Quay South Bank.
The winds of change..
Brisbane is like a fine bottle of wine; over time the quality improves, and each sip is greatly appreciated. Our city is continually evolving and maturing, producing breathtaking venues that never cease to amaze us. If it's not an entirely new concept, it's a renovation or re-brand. Let's just say, if Bris were a TV series it would either be Packed to the Rafters or Keeping Up With The Kardashians - wouldn't you agree? No month is the same in this town and we wouldn't have it any other way!
When in Brisbane..
Whether you love sipping on coffee or booze or, coffee mixed into booze, we've got the perfect hit just for you. Let your taste buds run wild this week as we try new menus, cocktails and heck, we'll even give Cuban cigars a crack. Boring is not a word Brisbane is familiar with. If you don't want to be a (boring) Betty this August, jump on the FUN train with us. First stop.. an espresso martini fest!
It must be love..
It's true what they say; love comes in all shapes and forms. Our greatest love is food (obviously) but, we also love being preened & pampered, we love giving our support to a good cause, we love music, socialising and trying new things and, most of all, we love LOVE. Whether your heart beats faster for another human or, a delicious bubbly beverage gives you the warm and fuzzies, we bet you'll find something lovely to do with someone you love in Brisbane over the next few weeks. Why not get the blood pumping at these exciting events...
We’re bringing Sunday back. Yeah!
The Sunday roast is a timely tradition all about sitting down to a big meal of veggies, gravy and roast meat with your family to reconnect after a long week of hard work. The roast remains a dish that is treated with respect and care, something special. A meal that takes time and thought to prepare and should be celebrated with family and friends instead of something to be scoffed down in front of the television on your couch in your underwear. But with the many restaurants around Brisbane serving up delicious roasts any day of the week, makes it easy to keep this tradition alive. It might just be perfect the time to reinvigorate this age old tradition, disconnect from our gadgets and gizmos and reconnect with family over a delicious meal - whether it’s on a Sunday or not.
And just like that, another month is gone (holy cow). Brisbane, you've put on quite a show for the first half of the year and we have no doubt you'll continue to #wow us over the next 6 months. Forget dry July, mid-year diets and winter hibernation, there are mouth-watering espresso martinis to drink, along with carb-loaded meals waiting to be eaten and inspiring exhibits to wander through!
New menu, who dis?
Out with the old and in with the new (well, sort of). Staying on top of seasonal foodie trends and produce is something most Brisbane eateries take pride in #lucky. Menus are continually being updated and tweaked to suit, not only our wants and needs, but also, what's current, fresh and locally sourced. We've had the privilege of taste-testing a number of new breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink menus over the past few weeks, and we think you should try them too. Be quick though, time fly's when you're having fun and before you know it, it'll be spring and the menus will be different again!
Go on, get out there
Lady birds and gentle pigeons, listen up. It's time to round up the flock and get ready for a jam-packed schedule this weekend, cause we're doing it all! From lantern-lit evening walks to long lunches, massive markets and beefed up bites, we've picked a few happenings that'll keep you warm, full and feeling good. If you're thinking of staying in, think again. There's too much to see and do so, spread those wings and get ready to soar around the city with us..
