Food, Fun & Theatre!
I hate to break it to you, but it's already July! We've had six months of food, culture, events and fun, but it's not over yet. There's new Mexican restaurants, exciting new live shows and even Christmas in July! Grab your friends and your jacket and slide down the rabbit hole... You never know what you'll discover!
Parties, Paintings & Performances!
We're all about the crazy, the wild and the little bit extra. We love our food, we love our shows, and most of all, we love our booze! The brilliant minds behind Blanc de Blanc are gracing our theatres with their newest show, Deluxe Deluxe, and restaurants and bars all over the coast are providing plenty of food and entertainment to keep us going all night long. Stuff your face full of Chinese food at Lupo, wind down with a watercolour class at Burleigh Brewing Co or get your glitter on for an incredible night of shows... The Coast has got it all!
The Spirit Of Churaki
You may only know him from that incredible bass line in Blister in the Sun, but the Violent Femmes bassist Brian Ritchie is so much more. On the days when he’s not pairing up with some of the best in Australian music, like his band The Break, full of members of Midnight Oil, Ritchie has lent his time as musical director to a new show on the Gold Coast called The Spirit of Churaki. Churaki was an Aboriginal man, and the first ever LifeSaver, performing daring rescues on the Gold Coast’s southern beaches in the 1900’s. His mostly forgotten story is being brought to life, with Ritchie forming the music with the help of a whole lot of others. We caught up with Brian to hear about the project and learn more about him.
Coffee, Cafes and Circuses!
New food, few fun and new ways to spend your Friday night. The month of love is here, and the Gold Coast has it all. With romance around every corner, new cafes and restaurants are popping up ready to feed your foodie friend, and with plenty of new shows from Coomera to Cooly, there's plenty to experience too. From crafted coffee and fine feasts to circuses and even smiling seals, it's impossible to pick one thing this month... So grab your wallet and put on some loose pants, because it's time to see (and eat) it all!
Shows, Sundays & Straya Day!
New year, new Sunday sessions, and new ways to kick back and enjoy the weekend. Sunday sessions are going on all across the coast, and if you haven't been yet, it's time you did. Put your feet up and enjoy live music, sipping as you welcome in the new week. With drinks, incredible performances and even a public holiday on the way, there's plenty of ways to enjoy yourself this week - So make the most of it!
Fashion, Festivals, Food!
Fashion, Performances, Art! January 2018 is all about bringing bigger and better things to the Coast, and with some of the worlds best designers and performers right on our doorstep, it's time we went out! From gourmet delights at the Food & Wine Expo to performances so good you might just cry, this weekend is full of things to get us out of the house - So why not go and do it!
Fitness, Fun and Free Ice Cream!
Things are heating up on the Gold Coast, and this week we're all about cooling down and chilling out. From busking battles to sunset yoga, the Coast is coming alive with all things music, arts and entertainment. We'll be dressing up and heading out, but if you can't handle the heat, never fear - Robina has free ice cream!
Tasty, Tantalising, Terrific!
Word up! This week’s Word on the Street puts the art back in party, and the sun back in Sunday, uncovering the Gold Coast’s top trends and hottest hangouts. Careful, it’s still hot (or is that just you?).
