Preen & Pamper
As we know, some Covid-19 restrictions have been eased and we are well on our way to livin’ our best non-corona lives! One industry that has been given the green light to re-open is the beauty industry! Yes everyone, that means… pampering time!!! Though they still need to maintain and abide by a Covid-Safe plan, we can finally treat ourselves to get groomed and glammed after months in iso! Check out what’s opening near you!
Money-smart tips to help you post COVID-19
Restrictions are starting to ease up and we’re slowly on our way to returning to normal life (or should we say, a somewhat normal life!) – We’re just as keen as you are to go back to our daily ritual of dining in at our local café for a smashed avo breakfast and hitting the town with our mates, downing over-priced cocktails. Though we miss our ‘non-essential’ way of living, this pandemic has been an eye-opener for many things – such as the need to be money smart! Here are some general tips that will help you cut back on non-essential spending post-COVID-19!
Our Virtual Reality
Anyone else feel like they’re living in a virtual reality? With months of being limited to staying home with minimal social interaction, all we’ve been doing is increasing our screen time! This goes for many events too as they have adapted to virtual screenings due to COVID-19. For all you animal lovers, music enthusiasts and market-goers, there are a few GC happenings that have adapted to the changes, giving you something to look forward to this week!
Here For Hope
This week, we’re spreading the feeling of hope. Keep on reading to see new happenings on the GC that will give us hope for a little normality in our lives and hope that we’ll all get through the other side of this pandemic!
Gratitude Is The Best Attitude
If you find yourself reflecting on simple things you took for granted pre-life-in-isolation, we can totally relate! Guaranteed, we’re all missing our usual way of life at this point but hang in there everyone, we can get through this together! We’re showing you what there is to feel grateful for this week and what has shifted to online to adapt to our new way of life!
Business chic on top, pyjamas on the bottom
How is isolation and social distancing going for you?! Are the days melting into one? Getting cabin fever? Forgetting to wear pants? Don’t’ worry because we bet you’re not the only one! This week we’re sharing a few fun things and events that have shifted to online, to spice up your time spent in the house during this pandemic!
Time To Get Our Iso-Workouts on
Gyms and relative fitness studios are among many businesses who unfortunately had to close doors due to the current pandemic. But coronavirus isn’t stopping these Gold Coast fitness experts from training and encouraging us to reach our fitness goals too! If these guys can quickly make the shift to online by offering virtual fitness spaces for sweat sessions and workouts, then we can make the time to support our locals! (And look good and feel good while at it!)
We’ve all been taken on a whirlwind and adapting to a new normal, to say the least! The current climate has forced many events to cancel and restaurants to close, leaving us cooped up in the house. Even through this time of isolation, it’s important to look up at the beauty around us and keep smiling. Luckily, we’re able to lift your spirits up this week and rid those corona-blues with some good news and a little bit of sunshine in your lives. There are new local happenings you need to know about from all things music to Easter fun! Let’s hop to it!
If you need something to brighten up your life at the moment (because trust me, we all do!), look no further! Now is the perfect time to adopt a pet, or even foster a new furry friend! Find out where you can adopt a pet on the GC!
The Kindness Pandemic
As we face a new normal and new way of life due to the Coronavirus, we can fall into the feeling of loneliness, uncertainty and sadness. If there was ever a time to practice positivity, compassion and humanity… it’s now!
GC's Guide to supporting local businesses
Isn't life wild at this point in time?! COVID-19 really doesn't want us thriving in the new decade, huh? Word on the street is... our beloved local small businesses are truly going through it with extreme changes because of this outbreak. Much-needed community support is required and fortunately, we can do our part in showing our endless support - even if it's from a distance!
Desperate times call for desperate measures
Are we honestly at that phase of the corona catastrophe that we're grabbing anything in arms reach, to wear as a face mask? (Yes, yes we are!) Just like face masks, hand sanitiser has almost completely left the shelves at the supermarket. So we've come up with this DIY recipe. Perfect for those of you late to get your hands on it at the store because you’ve spent all this time trying to figure out if everyone’s overreacting or you’re underreacting…
Sorry not sorry, that handshake needs to go...
‘Where have those hands been?!’ A legitimate question we’re all thinking when that extended arm reaches for yours. Norms are shifting, and greetings are changing. We’re on a hug and handshake hiatus until further notice!
Helping the community one act of kindness at a time
Everybody can use some help every now and then, and volunteering is a great way to do your part and get involved in your community like the good samaritan you know you can be.
