Free Food, Fine Whiskey & Sake Feasts
With a plate of food in one hand and a glass of your favourite drink in the other, life looks pretty good. We're spoiled for choice when it comes to places to eat on the Coast, and some of our favourites are about to make the choice a whole lot sweeter, offering Whiskey tastings, Sake feasts and free food, filling our calendars and our bellies. Whether you're a foodie or just enjoy the finer things in life, there's something for everyone. So don't worry... Get hoppy!
Tunes, Tastes & Top Golf!
In the famous words of David Bowie... Make the best of every moment. The coast is full of new tastes, shows and venues to explore, with something for everyone popping up around every corner. We've got delicious new menus, explosive new theatre, exciting new festivals and an Australian-first Theme Park popping up this week... So what are you waiting for?
Serums, Sweets & Sounds
What do sweets, singing and skin care all have in common? We love all three! Oh My, Waffle has come out with an exclusive new Hot Chocolate this week to ward of the winter weather, and Home of the Arts is treating us to the sweet sounds of Belladiva with an exclusive one-day Opera concert! Don't feel like heading out? Treat yo'self to a pamper day at home!
The Spirit Of Churaki
You may only know him from that incredible bass line in Blister in the Sun, but the Violent Femmes bassist Brian Ritchie is so much more. On the days when he’s not pairing up with some of the best in Australian music, like his band The Break, full of members of Midnight Oil, Ritchie has lent his time as musical director to a new show on the Gold Coast called The Spirit of Churaki. Churaki was an Aboriginal man, and the first ever LifeSaver, performing daring rescues on the Gold Coast’s southern beaches in the 1900’s. His mostly forgotten story is being brought to life, with Ritchie forming the music with the help of a whole lot of others. We caught up with Brian to hear about the project and learn more about him.
Feasts, Concerts & Fireworks!
I hate to break it to you... But it's almost June already! The second half of the year is coming round pretty quickly, and if you haven't spent most of your time checking out the cool new cafe's, exhibitions and concerts that we've been throwing all year, now's your time to start. Head to HOTA or get down to Broadbeach, or if you're looking to finish your weekend with a bang (literally), get down to Surfers for SeaFire!
Play, Paint, Create!
Unleash your arty side... We're celebrating all things creative, and Blues on Broadbeach is back to kick it all off! Start your weekend off at the Coast's biggest free music festival (yes, I said free!), then make your way to the Home of the Arts to experience their newest Art Exhibition, showcasing all the best of the Coast. Get inspired by the sights and sounds of the Coast, then grab your girlfriends and unleash your creative talent in The Craft Parlour's latest pillow painting session. Looking for something different this weekend? The Gold Coast has it all!
Boozy Blowdry's and Burgers Galore!
Does your Friday night consist of boozy blow dries or big burgers? Surfers Paradise is welcoming in two incredible new bars over the next few weeks, with Blow Bar Lane opening just last week and the famous Milky Lane Burger Bar set to grace our front doors soon! Get the girls together for an evening of pampering, or tackle one of Milky Lane's epic new Burgers. Looking for ideas for your next night out? We've got you covered.
Food, Music & Markets!
We've got food, we've got awards and we've got markets. If you're in the foodie scene, you're in luck - Cheeseburger Gyoza have just hit the streets of Broadbeach, and Harbourtown is expanding it's foodie scene! Pack your stretchy pants and be ready to empty your wallet - There's so much good food set to hit the Gold Coast we don't know where to go first! But if you're in the music scene? Better buy some tickets quick... The Gold Coast Music Awards are this week!

Southern BBQ's, Sweatathlons and Splendour 2018!
The Easter holidays may be over, but we're still being totally spoiled with choice when it comes to things to do. We've got Southern BBQ's, we've got Sweatathlons, and we've got the official lineup for Splendour 2018! (Cue cheering). Foodies, health nuts and festival-goers unite... This week is for you guys!
Music, Masterclasses & Rooftop Markets!
If you haven't caught on yet, the Coast is in the middle of its biggest party ever. We've got sporting feats in every major sporting center, concerts running on every Beach and roving entertainment right up and down the Coast! There's dance-off's, masterclasses and rooftop markets, and enough music and entertainment to fill every corner of the Coast. We've got 99 problems, but this week boredom isn't one of them.
Art Fests, Sunday Sesh & Chevron Fest!
Between the Commonwealth Games, Festival 2018 and the many pop-up food and arts festivals, we're spoiled for options this weekend. Whether you're in Coomera, Surfers, Robina or anywhere in between, rest and relax and enjoy everything that the Coast has to offer. Watch as street artists transform Robina Town Centre or escape the games with Sanctuary Cove's chill Sunday Sesh. When it comes to food, music and fun, some things are worth travelling for.
Food, Film and Festivals Galore!
Bring your wallet and party pants - The Easter long weekend is here, and we're totally ready to party! With exclusive new rooftop bars set to open up as well as two huge festivals coming to the Coast in the upcoming weeks (film buffs and festival-goers, this one's for you!), there's plenty to do - The only question is, where will you go first?
Fantasy, Food & Festival 2018!
We're stepping out of reality, dining in Gotham City and cracking open Dragon Eggs straight out of Game of Thrones. The opening of Gotham Grill and the reveal of Dragonfly's deluxe new dessert has shrouded the Coast in mystery, with Festival 2018 topping it all off in a month of fantasy, festivals and fun. Exciting new things are coming - The only question is... Where will you go first?
Malaysian, Music & Vegan Markets!
Don't look now, it's already March! The weather may be cooling down but the Coast's social sphere is heating up, with big festivals and new foodie spaces ready to keep the cold weather away! Dance the night away at the Coast's annual Bleach Festival or eat your heart out with PappaRich's new Malaysian breakfast menu sure to make a bang down in Surfers. If you're looking for animal-friendly food, Love Child Market Place is also due to open in the next few weeks, and if the rumours are true, it's not something you want to miss.
