The Ultimate Wine-Lovers Weekend Out

Sunsets At Sanctuary Cove

Have you ever dreamed of spending a weekend by the water, drinking French Wine and eating totally drool-worthy food? Well, food and wine lovers alike - This one's for you.

Running last year as Sanctuary Cove's Winter Wine Festival and re-named this year to Sunsets, Sanctuary Cove's annual Food & Wine Festival is one of the highlights of the Gold Coast calendar, bringing the Gold Coast together for one fabulous weekend of French wine and unforgettable food.

Kicking off the event on July 26th with the most exclusive event of the whole weekend, their annual Winemakers Dinner is the ultimate event for any serious foodie or wine lover. Hosted by InterContinental Sanctuary Cove inside their luxurious ballroom, anyone lucky enough to score a ticket (available here) will be immediately welcomed into the lap of luxury, indulging in some of the world's finest wines perfectly complimented by six courses of gourmet decadence.

Starting off the night at 6:15pm, the night will kick off with a Moreton Bay Bug Terrine complimented perfectly by Laurenti Grande Cuvée Rosée before moving onto Duck Breast with Honey for the second course, paired with a stunning 2013 Bimbadgen Signature Semillon. Not to be outdone by the first two courses, mains will be no less decadent, with Goldband Snapper and a Mandala 2017 Chardonnay followed up by mouth-watering Venison Topside and a stunning 2017 Montepulciano. Of course, all of the sweet tooths will be covered too with dessert - Expect Salted Chocolate Delice and a 2018 Shiraz, then finishing off the night with a selection of cheese and a classic Cab Sav!

Beginning a weekend of food and wine with such a stunning exclusive dinner, Sunsets itself will be no less spectacular. Starting at 2pm and running until 10pm on Saturday then 8pm on Sunday, Sunsets is the perfect place to celebrate all things gourmet food and spectacular wine, bringing together over forty renowned national and international wineries as well as fifteen of Australia's best craft brewers for one spectacular weekend of smooth sipping and spectacular tastings.

Offering the option to go for a day or for the entire weekend, stroll down the streets of the Marine Village and pick from dozens of hundreds of craft wines, savouring everything from French Champagne to Hunter Valley Reds, with the opportunity to discover your favourite drop behind every label.

Not to be out-done by the wine, Sanctuary Cove's cafe's and restaurants are no less spectacular. Hosting a dozen waterfront cafe's and restaurants throughout the Marine Village, you'll be spoiled for choice as soon as you walk down the main street of the village, with everything from Vegan Breakfast to perfectly cooked Seafood and Beef to help tantalise your taste-buds all weekend long.

Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, grab your gal pals and enjoy a waterfront brunch at Esco, Anchor Buoy or Cafe Nineteen then spend your morning window-shopping, with dozens of one-of-a-kind home and fashion items hidden among the racks! Stocking everything from pots, pillows and throws to unique scarves, dresses and world-class denim, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love.

An entire weekend of food, wine and shopping? What more could you possibly want!

I'm a creative at heart - I love reading, I love writing and I love my social media! I spend the majority of my time sipping coffee and finding the next best cafe, but when I get a second off chances are I'll be brunching at my local or running off to whatever event is on that night! During Summer you can find me sipping coffee and tanning down by Burleigh Beach, and in Winter I'll be skiing the slopes of Perisher or buried under a mountain of blankets with chocolate and a good book.
