Savour This Seasons Finest Drops At Sanctuary Cove
Winter is coming and with it, returns the Gold Coast’s sip-tastic Winter Wine Festival at Sanctuary Cove! Kicking off at 11am on Saturday July 28th and running right throughout the weekend, foodies and wine lovers alike are invited to indulge in the finer things in life, sampling a special selection of the latest release wines from Australia and around the world!
Proudly presented by Sanctuary Cove, the annual festival is a true celebration of the finer things in life, featuring wine masterclasses, food and wine matching events and food trucks as well as wine appreciation events, fine dining and live music. With a map in hand, guests will be able to meander throughout The Marine Village, stopping in at its award-winning restaurants and fittingly-themed supplier pavilions to sample decadent drops along the way.
From Australia, guests can sample wines from South Australian icons such as Henschke in the Eden Valley and D’arenberg in McLaren Vale, to smaller estates like Howard Vineyard in Adelaide Hills and Charles Melton in the Barossa Valley. Woodlands, Forester and Watershed will make their way from Margaret River to represent Western Australia, and Mandala Wines, Stonier and Dal Zotto will be featured from Victoria. Guests will also have the opportunity to sample some of the finest international drops, with wineries from New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina and USA featured along with Champagne houses from France.
Many renowned winemakers will make the journey to share the stories behind their wines including Stuart Blackwell from St Hallett Wines (Barossa Valley SA) who will be unveiling the Australian launch of new wine The Blockhead Shiraz, Richard Done (NSW) who will be representing Bimbadgen and Matt Wenk from Smidge Wines (Barossa Valley SA) who have been listed in Wine Spectator’s TOP 100 Wines of the World for an incredible ten consecutive years.
If you're looking to refine your knowledge of your favourite drop, you'll also get the opportunity to book in for an exclusive Wine Masterclass, where a panel of winemakers and industry experts will discuss the the varieties, regions and stories behind their wines. Learn the secrets behind the creation of all of your favourite wines including White Wine, Shiraz and Pinot Noir, with local and international wineries featured during the classes.
