It’s that time again…the three-day lockdown is upon us. But never fear! There are plenty of events to look forward to after we emerge from the sweatpants and unbrushed hair. Don’t get too attached to your bed just yet because this delicious guide is here to deliver all the locales and affairs you must attend. Don’t open that Netflix tab just yet…we have festivals to plan.
For one day in October, the first festival to run since 2020 will be in our GC back pocket. Promiseland is the brand-new multi-genre music festival that is taking over Doug Jennings Park. The multifaceted event includes Reggae, Hip Hop, and Alternative artists all on one stage. To mark the beginning of warmer months, gather your friends together and enjoy the Australian and New Zealand exclusive First Round Allstar line-up, including Katchafire, Sons of Zion, 1814, Nesian Mystik. Tickets go on sale Thursday 1st July, 10 am…Get yours quick, everyone is securing their spot in paradise…

30 JUNE – 13 JULY
Set to start today, Finn Mccool’s Winter Wonderland would have been the 13-day winter festival with the groovy music, great vibes and free-flowing Guinness that anyone could have wanted. Yet the unlucky clock struck COVID lockdown. Keep your eyes peeled for this slice of cobble-stoned Ireland streets over July and be sure to sink your teeth into their hearty bites and cheeky pints before it’s too late.

26 JUNE – 11 JULY
With the magic of a snowy night, Dreamworld’s WinterFest is back and set your mind at freeze because they’re offering all the entertainment, food and activities anyone could ever ask for. The favoured Park After Dark is making a season comeback for two nights during WinterFest on the 26 June and 3 July where guests can get cosy and let their wintering eyes enjoy the views from their favourite rides at night.

Since 1995, Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets have been the locale for unique shopping, art, provisions, and live local music. Operating all year round, the Twilight Beachfront markets is for everyone – from local to holidaymaker. Pop in early or stay late as you enjoy the range of tasty eateries and delicious attractions. While the markets are closed over lockdown, they will be back this Saturday 3 July pending any further announcements. They’ll be slinging sweet and savoury treats your way in no time!
Don't fret, we will all be out again soon, soaking up the sun, enjoying the themed festivals and drinking all the Irish Guinness we possibly can! For now, we will dream of the lavish and lovely events we will be attending soon... Stay safe everyone!
