GC Word on the Street #194
Dined, Wined, How Utterly Divine
From brunch to bees, the Gold Coast is offering its lovely locals all the sunny events for the last few weeks of winter. Kick back, relax, have a martini or make a beehive…the beautiful of our GC is there’s so much to choose from!
Providing for early risers and afternoon wine enthusiasts, Scott’s Luncheonette & Bar caters to many. From locals to day-trippers, the new venue opening in Palm Beach in mid-August has the coffee, the sangas and the wine. Whether you’re chasing a classic cocktail for lunch or you’re in need of a gourmet charcuterie board, Scott probably has the thing just right for you.
Artesian Hospitality opened Surfers Pavilion in late April and the waterfront venue has been a massive success since opening their doors. The Sunday sessions kicked off on 8th August and offer a delicious range of antipasto and cheese, vegetable frittata, salmon and avocado bruschetta, waffles…and more importantly, a severe and delicious array of martinis and drinks. Don’t get caught up in the Sunday blues, get your behind right into the Brunch Club!

Designer Penny Gale proves that sweet wildlife sketches are more than just pretty to look at. Fabriculture has been designing and producing fabulous fabrics and designs! The mother of two quickly discovered that a playgroup could identify a fox but not a bilby. Her savvy solution to this was to create a series of alphabetical flashcards highlighting our more unusual and vulnerable species. Gale’s wish is to create a culture where all of Australia’s natural heritage is celebrated and hopes to offer nature and art workshops later in the year, which would include making native beehives and nature journaling.
The wonders of our golden coast…much to do, many to see, having fun…and saving the bees!
