Your Easter Getaway Guide

We have some good news for you... The Easter holiday is just two weeks away! The long weekend is so close that we can almost taste it, and if you were lucky enough to get the whole four days off (or even more), we're pretty sure you're researching the best places to get away to for the long weekend right about now. With plenty of perfect weather forecast for the long weekend we're dreaming of a tropical beach holiday, so we've made it easy for you and come up with a list of the best places to get away this weekend - So sit back, relax and enjoy your long weekend off!

Moreton Island

Is there anything more perfect for a long weekend away than an Island vacation at Moreton? No, I didn't think so. Just off the coast from Brisbane, Moreton is the perfect place to go if you want to escape the mainland and relax for the long weekend, with plenty of stunning beaches and beautiful bush land for the ultimate island holiday. Pack your swimmers and a snorkel and spend the entire weekend on the beach, or bring your runners and explore all of the beautiful rainforest that Moreton has to offer... With so much to do, you might as well take the whole week off! Extended public holiday, anyone?

Sunshine Coast

We've all been for a holiday away at the Sunshine Coast before, and with the Easter weekend coming up, it's high time that we booked another one. Just a few hours North of Brisbane, it's the perfect place to go with small children, and with plenty of beaches, shopping and activities you'll find plenty of ways to entertain the whole family the whole weekend long - Plus, there's plenty of free Easter Egg hunts going on all weekend, so your Easter Bunny chocolate is covered too!

Gold Coast Hinterland

If you're not a huge beach person, the Gold Coast Hinterland is absolutely full of stunning places to get away to for a weekend stay-cation - So if you haven't taken the chance to do so yet, we highly recommend you do. Find an AirBnB in the area or book yourself into the stunning O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat (seriously, do it), then spend the weekend enjoying the peaceful sounds of the rainforest with your significant other. With plenty of easy and challenging hiking trails as well as the incredible Tree Top Walkway, you'll easily find things to do all long weekend - So why not grab your partner and book yourselves in!

Cabarita Beach

If you haven't been to Cabarita Beach yet - Now is your chance to do it. Located just south of the border, Cabarita Beach is a bit of a hidden Gold Coast gem, with stunning beaches and plenty of cute shops for the ultimate weekend away. Grab your gal pals and your bikini and enjoy a weekend at the beach, or grab your significant other and make your way through all of the fabulous food and shopping that Cabarita has to offer. Cubby Bakehouse, owned by the people who created Bam Bam Bakehouse in Miami, is also located nearby in Kingscliffe and we've heard it's pretty fabulous - So if you need any more reason to go South for the weekend, now you've got one.

Byron Bay

Is it even a long weekend if you don't go down to visit Byron Bay? With plenty of sunny days ahead going down to Byron Bay for at least a day trip with friends is an absolute must, and with plenty of fun hiking trails, pristine beaches, incredible shopping and delicious restaurants we know you'll find something for everyone. Grab your friends and spend the morning at the beach before going for a walk to the old lighthouse, then finishing off the day with dinner by the beach at the fabulous No Bones restaurant! Can the weekend come any sooner?

During Summer you can find me sipping coffee and tanning down by Burleigh Beach, and in Winter I'll be skiing the slopes of Perisher or buried under a mountain of blankets with chocolate and a good book.
