GC Word on the Street #105

So are you a foodie, a fashionista or just here for a good time? The Coast has plenty of events on this week for basically everyone, throwing open its doors for foodies and fashionistas alike to enjoy everything that the Coast has to offer. If you're into the fashion scene, you'll want to get your shop on at The Marine Village this weekend (hint hint: They've got some awesome sales on), but if you're less into fashion and more into food then there's plenty for you as well, with a French Festival and a Friday Night Feast happening that's totally incredible!

VIP Shopping Night | November 9th @ The Marine Village Sanctuary Cove

Christmas is right around the corner - And that means it's time to do some serious shopping! If you're wanting to avoid the madness that is pretty much all of the major shopping centres, The Marine Village in Sanctuary Cove has the perfect solution, opening their doors from 5-7pm on November 9th for a VIP Shopping Night right in time for the silly season! Fashion stores such as SoHo Girl, Harry's Jeans, EEV Fashion and Sparrow Littles will be throwing open their doors alongside retailers such as Cabana, Decorum Gifts, Hamptons Style and Perfect Decor. With plenty of exclusive specials alongside live music and plenty of incredible restaurants to visit if you're hungry (which, let's be real, you will be after all that shopping), it's the perfect way to wind down after a long week at work... So why not grab the girls and hit the racks!

Friday Night Bites | November 9th @ Smith Collective

We've all been wondering what happened to the Commonwealth Games Athlete's Village... Well say hello to the Smith Collective! A brand new residential community and retail hub, Smith Collective is bringing the community together with their Friday Night Bites, kicking off at 5:30pm and featuring plenty of live music, entertainment and everyone's favourite Food Trucks! Kick off your weekend with a Craft Beer from Burleigh Brewing Co before you follow your nose down to the Food Trucks, where you'll be greeted with food from Garlic & Spice and Pizzantica, as well as sweet treats by Belau Waffles that'll totally leave you drooling. If you're curious to see where the Athlete's lived (and, let's be honest, we all are), you'll also have the opportunity to go on a tour around Smith Collective, where you'll be treated to a viewing of the one and two-bedroom apartments! Feel like living like a Commonwealth Games Athlete? There's still plenty of spaces for rent, so you totally can!

Bonjour French Festival | November 10 - 11th @ Kurrawa Park

Ooh la la... The French Festival is back in town! We totally have a weakness for French food, so when we heard that the Bonjour French Festival was back at Kurrawa Park for its fifth year we were super excited - Hello French cheese, pastries, churros and chocolate-covered crepes! Kicking off from 4pm on the 10th and running all day on the 11th, you'll have plenty of opportunities to sample all of the incredible food that the French Festival has to offer, alongside plenty of live music and even a French Film Festival! They'll also be attempting to break the Bonjour Beret Guinness World Record, so make sure you pack your Beret to be a part of all the action!

I'm a creative at heart - I love reading, I love writing and I love my social media! I spend the majority of my time sipping coffee and finding the next best cafe, but when I get a second off chances are I'll be brunching at my local or running off to whatever event is on that night! During Summer you can find me sipping coffee and tanning down by Burleigh Beach, and in Winter I'll be skiing the slopes of Perisher or buried under a mountain of blankets with chocolate and a good book.
