GC WORD ON THE STREET #169

We’re almost certain that you’re just as happy about the dining scene coming back to life as much as we are! The more delicious foods in our lives the better, don’t you agree?! So this week we’re bringing you the newest and yummiest eats you can find on the GC as well as a few venues that have reopened as businesses start to return to normal!

THE COLLECTIVE | PALM BEACH

One venue that has made its comeback as exciting as ever is Palmy’s multi-cuisine restaurant, The Collective. A new traditional Greek eatery has been welcomed onto The Collective’s scene, giving us a taste of the Mediterranean, which is exactly what we desire since travel is off the table in the near future! Indulge in delectable and mouth-watering traditional Greek food that has a fun, modern twist to it such as slow cooked lamb gyros or sage and garlic charcoal baked scallops. And of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without traditional and fresh Greek doughnuts for dessert! The new space is the first to be introduced to The Collective in three years which definitely calls for a celebration! Check out the newly decorated space this weekend and celebrate with the crew over rooftop cocktails!

THE VAN | BURLEIGH HEADS

Since restrictions have eased up, chances are you’ve hit up your favourite local spots again, which would include Burleigh beach (obviously!) Well, there’s a local newbie in town situated right outside Burleigh Pavilion. The newest addition is a pastel vintage caravan that holds an array of beachside classics and tasty treats… Just when we thought we couldn’t love Burleigh even more than we already do! Expect to find freshly baked goods such as croissants, doughnuts, banana bread and sourdough loaves which are baked daily by Burleigh Pavilion’s French Head Chef and team. Not only that but acai bowls, smoothies and various toasties are up for grabs too, perfect for your beachside morning stroll. It wouldn’t be Burleigh without delicious and epic eats, so head on down to The Van from 6am daily to enjoy the food (plus the view) for yourself!
