Ten Activities To Save For A Rainy Day
Welcome to Australian Summer - When it's either scorching hot or pouring rain. Luckily on our end of the Coast we're generally blessed with long days full of sunshine, but when the Heaven's open and it starts pouring we're often at a loss for things to do - And when it pours for more than a day, we tend to get a little stir-crazy. We may not be able to go on long hikes or work on perfecting our Summer tans, but that doesn't mean that we can't still have a little fun on the Coast with these ten wet weather boredom busting activities!
Arts, Entertainment and Shopping!
Just in case you weren't aware yet - There's some seriously cool stuff going down on the Coast this week! We've got events from Coomera to Cooly, with the revival of Buskers by the Creek back for yet another year and the grand opening of Coomera Westfield this Thursday. Grab your gal pals and shop to your hearts content with a huge range of sales in just about every store in Westfield, or head down to Cooly Tavern for two days of art, music and entertainment in Australia's biggest busking Festival! Not a fan of art and music? Don't worry, Westfield has plenty of food too!
German, Gourmet & Gold Coast Fashion Week!
October is one of our favourite months of the year. Not only is it warm enough to go outside again, but every other restaurant is gearing up for Halloween and Oktoberfest! Beer and Bratwurst are around every corner, while the more fashion-forward of us are hitting the shops to check out all of the newest trends for the Melbourne Cup and Gold Coast Fashion Week! Of course, shopping is hard (and hungry) work - So why not hit up Crafted Festival next weekend before you go?
7 Sweet Spots to Sip This Spring
Ah, Summer. The days of swimming, sun bathing and sipping cocktails as we watch the sunset. The Coast is full of places to sip and stay, and with plenty of talented bar-tenders around there's no shortage of cool and creative cocktails to sip on your Sunday off. Head to your local restaurant, or find the nearest rooftop bar to sit and watch the sunset from. Cocktails in the warm Spring sun? Um, yes please.
Food, Fire & Fu Manchu!
New season, new you! Now that we can actually get out of bed before 9am without freezing, going out with your gal pals for brunch isn't such a bad idea. Cafe's and restaurants right around the Coast are breaking out their Spring menu's, with Waffles and Pancakes being swapped for Acai Bowls and Avo on Toast as we shake off the Winter blues and move back into the days of blue skies. There's nothing better than a day out with your gal pals - So why not hit up a cafe for their new Spring menu then head to NightQuarter for a show afterwards?
Ten Must-Visit Gold Coast Markets
In case you didn't know, the Gold Coast has some seriously cool markets. Whether you're after a cool gift for your sister, a cute trinket for your house or you're just down for the food, our markets have something for absolutely everyone. With the days warming up and the sun shining again, there's no better time to grab the gals and head out to one of the Coast's many markets - And what better way to wind down after a hard week than with some retail therapy?
Clubs, Carnivals & Craft Beer!
Can you smell the food trucks yet? We certainly can... Because the Broadwater Parklands will be full of them next weekend! If you're a fan of food you'll want to make your way down to Southport, but if you're a fan of booze you'll want to keep your eye on Kurrawa Park, because there's a Crafted Beer Festival going on down there soon too! Pick between Burgers, Bao, BBQ meats and Booze with two fabulous weekends of feasting, then make your way down to Surfers for the biggest 80's Club Reunion on the Coast, hitting off in neon style!
6 Must-Try Hikes This Spring
We all love the sparkling beaches and bright city lights, but travel just a little away from the bustling city streets and you'll discover a whole other world, of vibrant colour and rushing waterfalls just outside our front doors. The Coast and the Hinterland are full of lush rainforests, colourful creatures and rushing waterfalls, and with the cold finally creeping away there's no better time to grab your friends, some walking shoes and go explore everything that our gorgeous Hinterland has to offer.

7 Ways To Spend Your Next Girls Night
We all need our gal pals sometimes. They're our sisters, our best friends and our soul mates all rolled into one, and life wouldn't be the same without them. Whether it's getting them to check for something in our teeth, confirming that that dress doesn't make us look fat, getting rescued from an awkward date or calling them at all hours when we get dumped, our gal pals are there for everything. So when girls night comes around, there's nothing better than putting on some lippy, grabbing a pair of heels and heading out! Whether you enjoy a quiet night at home or a night of crazy indulgence, everything is always a million times better with our friends.
Writing, Workshops & Weddings!
'Tis the season to get married! The days are a little bit brighter, the nights a little bit warmer and the weeks a little bit better. While wedding season arrives and the Coast's annual Wedding Expo comes back to save everyone from Bridezilla, creatives from all over the Coast are meeting in Byron for the annual Writers Festival. Pour your creative ideas out by the beach, and hear from some of Australia's most successful Authors. Not your thing? Crack open a cold one at NightQuarter instead in their Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Fest!

Can't wait for the weekend? Neither can we. There's nothing better than cracking open a bottle of your finest vino to celebrate Saturday, and that's exactly what Sanctuary Cove is doing, celebration the finer things in life this weekend with their Winter Wine Festival! Celebrate all the finest drops with your friends, or head to the beach and stop by Finn Poke's hot new Burleigh restaurant. Can you hear the weekend calling? We sure can...
Winter Movies & Wine Masterclasses!
Is there anything better than spending your afternoon eating snacks and sipping wine? We didn't think so. Sanctuary Cove's Winter Wine Fest is right around the corner with plenty of local and international wines to savour, and Burleigh Brewing Co is hosting their next Outdoor Movie Night in a few weeks time. Beer or wine? Why not both!
Theatrical Feats & Vegan Feasts!
What would you do if you stole $40,000? Asking for a friend.
Travel around the world, try new foods and uncover your creative side this week with new shows, new foods and new creative programs to help you enjoy even the coldest Winter nights! We're addicted to carbs so we'll be going straight to The 4217 for their All You Can Eat Pizza & Pasta nights, but maybe we'll swing by HOTA later for a show. What are you doing?
