GC Word on the Street #144

Well hello there party people! Looking for somewhere to eat, drink and celebrate this weekend? Well luckily for you we've got all the answers. From new menu's to entirely new venues (and even a super cool festival in between), you'll find plenty of ways to spice up your week.

Surfers Paradise Beer Garden

In case you've been living under a rock lately, the old Surfers Paradise Tavern recently under-went a super cool face-lift - And it finally opened last weekend! Transforming from old to bold, as soon as you through the double glass doors you'll be greeted with sweet wall art and a stunning open-air space, complete with plenty of faux grass and a retractable roof for those cool, all-year-round Summer vibes. Not to be outdone by the decor, their brand new food and drinks menu is no less stunning, featuring a totally stunning range of creative cocktails and plenty of drool-worthy dishes that we can guarantee you'll love! With Summer rolling around and the beach just down the street, there's no better place to spend your Saturday afternoon... So get down and check it out ASAP!

Main Beach Flower Festival | September 7 - 8

We love any excuse to dress up and get among flowers, so when the Main Beach Flower Festival announced it was coming to town, we almost wet our plants! Transforming Tedder Avenue into a sea of floral beauties for one weekend only, spend the weekend immersing yourself in beautiful botanical workshops, with plenty of hands-on experiences to warm every plant-lovers heart. Unleash your inner artist and create a stunning floral painting, or get your hands dirty and learn how to create your very own succulent bowl and dried flower arrangements - And the best part is, you get to take it all home with you! #WINNING!

Outdoor X | September 13 - 15 @ The Marine Village

Calling all adventurers, road-trippers and travelers-at-heart... The Marine Village is hosting OutdoorX showcase in just a few weeks! Celebrating all things adventure and outdoors, The Marine Village will come alive for one stunning weekend of adventures and exhibitions, with some of Australia's latest and greatest adventure technology gracing the streets of the Marina. With caravans, fishing gear, marine gear and more coming to the Marina as well as live entertainment, cooking demonstrations and more, if you consider yourself an adventure-seeker you'll want to get tickets ASAP!

Pod 6 Coffee

We're never short of places to eat on the Gold Coast, but we're certainly not complaining when new places pop up - Particularly when they serve food as delicious as Pod 6 Coffee! Located in Runaway Bay and serving up some seriously stunning breakfast and lunch dishes, grab your gal pals and indulge in Buddha Bowls, Waffles, Eggs Bennies and more - Then top it all off with a coffee or juice, and you've got the perfect brunch date out!

New Menu | Black Sheep Bistro

One of the Coast's Northern hidden gems is the Black Sheep Bistro, and with some seriously stunning dishes and incredible coffee, it's not hard to see why! Recently re-doing their menu right in time for Spring, grab your gal pals or your boyfie and indulge in Pancakes, Smoked Salmon Bagels or their best-seller Bacon & Egg Burger (we highly recommend it), then pair it with a coffee or fresh-pressed juice for a Summer brunch out. Also doing lunch with the option for takeaway, you can easily grab a healthy takeaway option, or some good old comfort food in the way of their famous Steak Sandwich or Pulled Pork Burger. Just don't forget to add fries!

I'm a creative at heart - I love reading, I love writing and I love my social media! I spend the majority of my time sipping coffee and finding the next best cafe, but when I get a second off chances are I'll be brunching at my local or running off to whatever event is on that night! During Summer you can find me sipping coffee and tanning down by Burleigh Beach, and in Winter I'll be skiing the slopes of Perisher or buried under a mountain of blankets with chocolate and a good book.
