Cute Paws and Fresh Pours

GC Word on the Street #60

From cute paws to new pours, the Coast has something for everyone! With Christmas coming up, there's no better place to be than at the Arts Centre Markets (where you can view and make your own adorable puppy statues), but if you're getting sick of all of the festive stuff why not check out Chevron's inaugural Festival? Celebrating the new and improved Chevron Renaissance shopping centre with plenty of food and live music, it's the perfect way to spend your weekend - And once you're full, why not finish off the night at the brand new 4 Birds Tap House in Paradise Point! Weekend sorted.

Chevron Fest | Dec 16th

One of the most iconic shopping precincts on the Coast, Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre in the heart of Surfers is set to turn up the celebrations with their very first Chevron Fest. Kicking off at 10am, Chevron is set to delight the crowds with free entertainment all day and plenty of cheap food, with Betty's Burgers set to offer up tantalising $1 burgers right throughout lunchtime. I'll say that again - $1 burgers! While the mouthwatering variety of quality, cheap food is sure to draw you in, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the range of boutique stores and prizes, with live music setting the perfect atmosphere for an incredible evening out in the town. #BringonSummer

Paws For Thought Exhibition | Arts Centre

What's the only thing cuter than puppies? Puppies wearing Santa hats! While they're not real puppies, these life-sized puppy statues will be popping up all around the Arts Centre right in time for Christmas. Created by local artist Dion Parker, these adorable little statues will be hanging around right up until January, and you'll even have the opportunity to make your own adorable pup at the Arts Centre Markets!

4 Birds Local Tap House & Grill

Watch out Paradise Point, 4 Birds Tap House has just opened! The edgy little sister of ever-popular Love Nightlife in Broadbeach, 4 Birds is quickly becoming a hit with the locals, with craft beer on tap and plenty of cocktails for the ideal evening out! Open 7 days a week from 6am-Midnight - So basically all the time - and fueled primarily by good food and cocktails, you can sit and sip anytime. So why not check it out?

For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for all things creative, and so when it came time to choosing my degree it was only natural that I gravitated towards studying Creative Writing at Griffith University. I’m in my final year of University now and plan to graduate in November, but when I’m not out at University you’ll often find me curled up in some secluded corner of my house with headphones and a good book or brewing coffees down at my local Café. Occasionally you can also find me outside with my partner, family or dog, but only when the weather is warm enough. I love the rain and cold weather, but only if it’s outside and I’m inside. Born and raised on the Gold Coast, good beaches, good vibes and good company are some of my favourite things in life.
